I’ve spent a great deal of time studying business startups and innovation through my doctoral research. In particular, I’ve been studying the holy grail of economic development and considering questions such as: What steps can we take to facilitate the creation of cutting edge, high-growth startups so they build, grow and stay in our community?

I believe creating a robust startup ecosystem is the key to building a strong and vibrant economy. How can a municipality go about doing this and doing so in a way that differentiates itself?
